Do you pick up donations of clothing or furnishings?

Answer:
Yes, to schedule a pick up, call the Visalia Emergency Aid Thrift Store at 635-8525 or you can drop your donation off at 620 W. Houston Ave. Pick ups and deliveries are from Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No pickups are scheduled on Saturdays.

Can I donate food?

Answer:
Yes, you can drop your food donation at Visalia Emergency Aid Council at 217 N.E. 3rd Street from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please no opened packages. We have a walk-in refrigerator and a walk-in freezer for bulk items that need refrigeration.

Q. What if I want to donate a used vehicle?

Answer:
A. Our Vehicle Donation Program will allow you to donate our vehicle with very little effort on your part. Simple call Patricia Espinoza at 559-732-0101 and she will make all the arrangements to pick up your vehicle as well as take care of any paper work necessary and required by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Answer:
Yes, you can donate on the website, just click the “donate now” button and select a one-time donation or become a monthly partner. You may also mail a check to Visalia Emergency Aid Council, P.O. Box 651, Visalia, CA 93291 or drop off a check to Visalia Emergency Aid Council, 217 N.E. 3rd Street, Visalia, CA 93291.

Answer:
Yes, VEAC is a charitable non-profit organization formed under a 501 (c) (3) FIN 94-1294955. Vehicle donations have specific rulings, please call Patricia Espinoza for more information at 559-732-0101.

Answer:

How can I become a volunteer?

Answer
Simply call VEAC at 559-732-0101; you may decide to volunteer on a regular basis or just a one-time event with a group or on your own. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday at the Food Pantry or 7 days weekly at the Thrift Store. We also have opportunities for volunteers during the Holiday Distributions at Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve and during the Race Against Hunger and other special fundraising events.

What services do you proved to needy families?

Answer:
VEAC provides basic necessities such as food, clothing and emergency rental assistance. Vouchers are provided to the Visalia Emergency Aid Thrift Store on an appointment basis or walk-in emergencies. We are able to provide supplemental food on a monthly basis to needy families with children or elderly persons living in poverty. Each family is handled on a case-by-case basis and may qualify for assistance more often depending on each situation.

What kind of information does someone need to receive services?

Answer:
A. Anyone coming into VEAC must bring Identification, a current utility bill, proof of income for the household, a current rent receipt, proof of emergency and a referral if applicable. If a family needs assistance more than once, they must bring the listed items each time they come in.

Do you provide job training?

Answer:
Yes, VEAC and VEATS are both job training sites for Tulare Works and other programs and organizations designed to help those needing job training or re-training as well as temporary light duty designations from a variety of temp services.
